The former candidate for California governor is to attend the United to Victory dinner with Bush on Thursday, and have lunch at a related event Wednesday where Bush adviser Karl Rove is the guest speaker. She says she's taking part at the invitation of the National Republican Congressional Committee, which is organizing the events.

"I'm really excited to be going back to Washington D.C. to see the president again," said Carey. "Everyone thinks that politicians are stuffy, but we all had a great time last year, and I had fun signing a lot of autographs. Wait till they see that I have lost 20 pounds since the last time they saw me. Watch out Mr. President!"

According to a news release, Carey is slated to receive the 2005 California Businesswoman of the Year award for her efforts in starting Mary Carey Productions, Inc.

"I'm always excited to learn more about what's going on in our nation's capital, since most people in the porn industry think an Iraqi pullout is a form of safe sex," she quipped. "Since I'm seriously considering running for governor of California again, I'm going to need a lot of support from Republican lawmakers nationwide – however I can get it."

The NRCC is the same group that accepted $5,000 from Carey and her pornographer, Mark Kulkis of Kick A-- Pictures, and allowed the pair to take part at the 2005 Flag Day Dinner.

Asked by WND last year about the propriety of the Republican Party collecting $5,000 from a pornographer and the example such an appearance set for the moral climate of the nation, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said: "I think you need to direct those questions to the committee itself."

When WND contacted the NRCC about the Flag Day event, spokesman Carl Forti said, "They've paid their money. No matter what they do, the money is going to go to help elect Republicans to the House."

Mary Carey Dines with President Bush

WorldNetDaily, 5/20/05 - A porn star who unsuccessfully ran for California governor will be among the guests who will dine with President Bush at an upcoming fund-raiser.

According to Counterpunch, the National Republican Congressional Committee is hosting a dinner June 14, and among those in attendance will be the buxom Mary Carey, and her boss, Mark Kulkis.

"I'm hoping to run as lieutenant governor of California next year," Carey said. "Since Arnold [Schwarzenegger] is a Republican, I thought this dinner would be a great networking opportunity for me."

"I'm especially looking forward to meeting Karl Rove," Carey added. "Smart men like him are so sexy. I know that he's against gay marriage, but I think I can convince him that a little girl-on-girl action now and then isn't so bad!"

Carey lost to Schwarzenegger in the 2003 California recall election. Her platform included: taxing breast enhancements, making lap dances tax deductible, recruiting porn stars as "ambassadors of good will," and putting Web cams up in every room of the governor's mansion.

Just last weekend, Carey, whose real name is Mary Cook, was among five people arrested at a new strip club in a suburb of Tacoma, Wash.

All were accused of violating the local adult-cabaret ordinance, some by getting too close to customers and others – including Carey – by touching themselves in a sexual manner, according to the Associated Press.
