Prague Daily Monitor, 2/10/06, The town and village authorities may ban the sale of pornographic and erotic literature in newsstands and the sellers cannot prevent it, according to a decision of the Constitutional Court today.

The sellers cannot use the argument that the ban curtails their right to free business, the court ruled.

It dealt with the case of businessman Slavomil Blaha who owns a newsstand in Prague's Na Porici street. In 2001, he was fined 2000 crowns for selling erotic and pornographic magazines in it.

He raised the objection that his rights were violated, but the court ruled that this did not happen.
